Night of Joy, September 8-9, 2006

Night of Joy, an annual celebration of Christian music at Disney's Magic Kingdom, has been awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Gospel Music Association. Over the years, the Night of Joy has featured more than 110 Christian music artists and drawn approximately 900,000 attendees. This year's Night of Joy will take place from September 8-9 between 7:30 PM and 12:30 AM and feature the following artists (subject to change without notice): Mercyme, Casting Crowns, Barlowgirl, Rebecca St. James, David Crowder Band, Building 429, Matthew West, Todd Agnew, Vicky Beeching, Kirk Franklin, Tobymac, Jeremy Camp, Smokie Norful, Zoegirl, Hawk Nelson and The Afters.

Walt Disney World Triathlon Weekend

Walt Disney World will host its Triathlon Weekend, a USA Triathlon-sanctioned event, from September 22-24, 2006. Entrants must register by September 1, 2006. The Triathlon Weekend includes the following events: Walt Disney World Aquathlon, Walt Disney World Kids' Triathlon and the Walt Disney World Triathlon.

Disney Tops Kid-Friendly Attractions List

According to the 2006 TripAdvisor Insider's list of the "Top 10 Kid-Friendly Attractions Around the World," Walt Disney World ranks No. 1 and SeaWorld Orlando ranks No. 8. Universal Studios Hollywood, Hershey Park, San Diego Zoo, Disneyland Paris, London Eye, National Air & Space Museum, Legoland and Busch Gardens Williamsburg round out the list.

Magic Kingdom Most Visited U.S. Theme Park

According to American Business, Disney's Magic Kingdom was the most-visited theme park in the United States in 2005 with approximately 16.1 million people, an increase of more than 6.5 percent over 2004. Rounding out the top five for attendance were Disneyland (14.5 million), Epcot (9.9 million), Disney-MGM Studios (8.6 million) and Disney's Animal Kingdom (8.2 million).
